Below site has some decent info. Generally the recommended max level is 350mg/day during pregnancy. Also you may want to get magnesium levels to normal levels (via IV at hospital, or slowly over time as you seem to be doing now) before pregnancy, and then just taking minimum dosage available in prenatals/multivitamins.
